// BORDER TRANSFERS
KypyWay operates ground transfers through the most-used Canada–US land crossings. Our drivers know each crossing's customs procedures, lane configurations, and typical wait patterns — and they communicate that knowledge to you before and during the journey.
// BEFORE YOU TRAVEL
Ensure you carry a valid passport or NEXUS card. Canadian and US citizens may use enhanced driver's licences at some crossings. We do not provide document advice — confirm requirements with CBSA and CBP.
Border wait times vary by hour, day, and season. We build buffer time into all border runs. For same-day bookings, our dispatch team checks live CBSA and CBP wait time feeds before confirming your pickup.
You are responsible for all customs declarations for goods in your possession. Our drivers do not carry goods on your behalf and are not involved in declarations. Border crossing is between you and the authorities.
Border crossing quotes include wait time up to 45 minutes. Extended delays beyond that are billed at an hourly waiting rate disclosed in your confirmation. Tolls at bridges and tunnels are included in the quoted price.
// CROSSING ROUTES
The Peace Bridge connects Fort Erie with Buffalo and is one of the busiest crossings in eastern Canada. Traffic volumes peak on Friday afternoons and holiday weekends. NEXUS lanes available on the Canadian side. We depart from Toronto or Niagara Falls area depending on your origin.
The Ambassador Bridge carries approximately 25% of all Canada–US trade traffic and is one of the most important commercial crossings in North America. Passenger traffic operates alongside commercial trucks. The Windsor Tunnel is an alternative for days when bridge queues are extended — our drivers assess this in real time.
The Pacific Highway crossing handles the highest volume of southbound traffic from Metro Vancouver into Washington State. Common destinations include Bellingham, Seattle, and Sea-Tac Airport connections. The Peace Arch crossing at Douglas is an alternative for travellers without commercial goods — our drivers use both depending on day and time.
The southernmost Quebec crossing into New York State. Common for travellers connecting from Montréal to the Adirondacks, Albany, or New York City via I-87. The drive from downtown Montréal to the crossing takes approximately 45 minutes without traffic. From the crossing to Albany is a further 90 minutes.
// ADDITIONAL CROSSINGS
Beyond the four primary crossings, KypyWay operates at additional points of entry on a confirmed-availability basis. These include the Queenston–Lewiston Bridge (Niagara region), the Thousand Islands Bridge (Kingston area), the Lansdowne–Hill Island crossing, and the Sault Ste. Marie crossing into Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
For crossings into Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, contact us directly. We maintain relationships with transport operators in those regions and can coordinate through our network when in-house coverage isn't available.
We require a minimum of 4 hours' notice for border crossing bookings due to the additional coordination involved. Same-day border runs are accepted for corporate account holders only. All border crossing bookings require valid travel document information at the time of booking — not for us to verify, but to allow our drivers to brief themselves on your journey.
